Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German television and film actress best known for her performances in film productions such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Since she was the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her showbiz career at a young age. She was a lead actress in TV dramas as young as 16 years old. Her critically acclaimed performance in the TV film that was made to air Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like the role of the secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially highly successful Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films featuring the diva. Through the years, Alexandra has appeared in many noteworthy national and international projects. They include those of the British biographical Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time as well as French Historical Miniseries Napoleon. She also served on the jury at the Transylvania International Film Festival, as well as at the Cannes Film Festival.
